IIT Kanpur may release JEE Advanced 2018 exam pattern. JEE Advanced Exam consists of 2 papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both the papers are conducted on the same day. Both Paper I and Paper II will have questions from 3 sections.

  • JEE Advanced 2018 is an online test comprising of 3 sections namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • It will be 3 hours’ duration test. Negative marking is also applicable in the exam.
  • There will two papers on the same day with a gap of 1 hour. Candidates have to appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
  • Those who have applied for B.Arch will have to appear for AAT (Architecture Aptitude Test) exam.
  • The marking scheme may have the concept of full marks, partial marks, zero marks and negative marks.
  • The questions will be multiple choice or objective type and numerical in nature.
  • The exam will be bilingual i.e. it will be conducted in both English and Hindi.


The JEE Advanced Paper pattern for paper 1 consists of 3 sections- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. As mentioned above, JEE Advanced pattern 2018 might include some changes. JEE advanced paper-2  pattern will be divided into 3 parts.

  • The 1st part has 8 MCQs. With 4 options and one correct answer.
  • 2nd part will have 8 MCQs. Each question with 4 different options with one correct answer. The exam will contain Four paragraphs including data interpretation, practical aspects as well as the thesis. Each paragraph will contain 2 questions.
  • The 3rd part consists of four different matching list type questions. Matching options code like a, b, c, and d will be there in two separate lists. Based on the given code. applicants have to choose the correct answer.
