  • The JEE Main 2018 application form will be available in the first week of December 2017.
  • Students should fill the application carefully as per the instructions are given in the information bulletin.
  • The authority shall also provide the correction facility for the application form.
  • Upload the scanned images of passport size photograph and signature.
  • Images should be in JPG or JPEG format.
  • Candidates have to mention the name and date of taking photograph in the image.
  • After the fee payment confirmation, students should take a print copy of the confirmation page for further use.
  • There is no need to send the printed confirmation page to the CBSE board.

JEE Main Registration Fee:

Candidates can pay the JEE Main 2018 application form fee through online and offline method. In online mode, payment can be made through debit or credit card and in the offline process, payment can be done through the Challan of Syndicate/HDFC/Canara/ICICI Bank. The e-challan will be generated by filling the JEE Main 2018 application form. Payments through other modes like DD, money order, IPO, etc. will not be accepted.   • Payment of fee can be done either through credit card/debit card or e-challan.
  • GST will also be applicable.
  • Candidates opting e-challan are required to make the payment in Syndicate/ICICI/Canara Bank in cash.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The eligibility criteria for appearing JEE Main 2018 is given below:
    • Qualification Criteria:

      • Qualifying Exam: It is must for the candidates to pass the 12th examination/qualifying examination with 5 subjects to be eligible for JEE Main 2018.
      • Subjects: The qualifying examination must be passed/appearing in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
      • No Minimum Marks: 
        • There are no minimum marks required in the 12th examination for writing the JEE Main exam. However, candidates have to secure the passing marks.
        • For admission to IITs, NITs, CFTIs, students must have secured 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) or be in the top 20 percentile.
      • Passing Year: Those who have appeared and passed the higher secondary examination in 2016 and 2017 from recognized board. Those who appear in the 12th examination in 2018 are also eligible for apply.
      • In case if candidate appeared the 12th examination in 2015 but not passed in 2015, passed in 2016 are also not eligible.
      • Diploma Holders: Diploma holders may also apply for JEE Main 2018 but only eligible for admission to IITs. In other words, Diploma holders will be eligible for JEE Main so that they can further apply for JEE Advanced but not eligible for admission on the basis of JEE Main scores.
    • Age Criteria:

      • Date of Birth: Candidates those born on or after 1st October 1993 are eligible for writing the JEE Main examination.
      • Relaxation: 5 years relaxation shall be provided in the upper age limit of SC/ST & PWD candidates (i.e. DOB falls on or after 1st October 1988).
      • Date of Birth will be considered as mentioned in secondary education board certificate.
    • Number of Attempts:

      • Total 3 attempts will be given for clearing the JEE Main. Attempts will be counted from the year 2017 onwards. JEE Advanced can be attempted maximum 2 times in consecutive years.

How to Apply for JEE Main

  • Visit the official website of JEE Main 2018 (link will be provided above).
  • Go through the link “Apply for JEE Main 2018”.
  • Read the instructions carefully and click on the “Proceed to Apply Online”.
  • Authentication form will appear on the screen, fill all the necessary details and submit it.
  • Now, the JEE Main 2018 Application Form will appear on the screen.
  • Fill the required details like personal, exam related, academic, address, guardians, etc.
  • Review the application form and verify your details before submitting.
  • Select the “Upload Scanned Images” option.
  • Click on the “Browse” button to select the scanned images.
  • Now click on “Final Upload” button to upload the scanned images of a photograph and signature.
